It’s a Well Day

I thought I would be traveling to visit with family about this time in October, but as it turns out, my plans have been bumped out for another month yet. I figured I’d need to take a little time out from blogging, although not necessarily from writing or editing; writing articles for my blog is a bonus activity that I like to share with readers, but it takes a lot of personal time that I probably won’t have while I’m away.

And, as it turns out, the last couple of days haven’t exactly been void of responsibilities, so on top of a bit of a head cold, I’ve been lacking my usual gumption for cranking out Friday’s weekly feature. This follows last week’s pitch down a hill, after I slipped on a closed pinecone hiding in the shadows of my trail. For all the pain, it should have been an ice cream cone. So, really, I haven’t quite been “with it,” anyway.

I was debating just taking a “get-wellness day” today, but the self-deliberation has ended, ever since I had to be available for someone to check out the suddenly non-working furnace this morning, and for which the vigil lasted through the afternoon. If you knew my dog, you’d understand that this meant I mostly had to meditate with her to keep her mellow while the handyman banged around and periodically burst into loud conversations, in Chinese, on the phone. My dog doesn’t speak or understand Chinese, so she complained that she couldn’t understand him. She complained a lot.

Next Friday, I should be back in regular form, especially as I won’t likely be traveling until after Halloween. I’ll keep you informed of my blogging plans when I have more specifics to share. In the meantime, you can look forward to a few fireworks due, concerning the horribly prevalent misuse of collective-singular versus plural possessives and tense. Hoo boy! Why do so many of us get this wrong?

See ya next week.
