and a new look for the HFE blog
Those of you readers who are also members of The Centrifugal Eye's Facebook group probably read about my recent troubles with the last blogpost here (which is now available to read, so if you haven't been able to access it previously, you should no longer have any problems getting to it); turns out the blog's application platform had been altered by WIX, but I'd apparently missed that news somewhere along the line. Most likely it happened while I was in between computers the past couple of months.
The intended changes seem to provide quieter, more streamlined design for site blogs, with simplified formatting tools. There are definitely fewer bells and whistles, but my basic purposes for blogging on the Hanninen Freelance Editing website are still served. I hope you won't miss the original glamor of the old design, overly much.
Become an HFE blog "Member"
WIX, my webhost, has added a new site feature to the blog that now allows me to not only share my thoughts on writing and editing with the worldwide web, but also to grow an active, online community associated with the HFE website.
We now have a built-in Members Area on the site, so that readers and clients can easily sign up to become members of the feed, get direct notifications of new and updated posts or announcements, leave comments, and even communicate with each other. Each member gets a personal profile page to customize, too. Cool, right?
A newsworthy feature:
Members of the HFE blog can also be assigned "guest writer" capabilities, so that they can write guest posts directly to the blog. I enjoy offering guest event articles to the blog's readers, and this new feature can unlock opportunities for more of you to become involved in HFE's world of writing and editing. This is a fun way to grow site content, by keeping it entertainingly diversified. Would you like to help me create additional, interesting articles and essays for the blog?
Become a featured guest writer in 7 easy steps:
Sign up to be an HFE Blog Member. You can do that right from the blog's main page.
Create a brief profile and make sure to say something about your writing interests.
Send me an email query via the Contact page and propose a guest post idea.
I'll reply to your query as soon as possible.
I may propose a special slant or even new topic for your guest event.
If your article idea is accepted for the blog, we'll work together to edit your piece.
Once the article is finished, you'll be scheduled to post your guest article or essay to the blog.
Looks like the HFE blog is really back in business. It just had a few more growing pains to go through. Thanks for your patience as I figured out what needed to be done to make things work again.
