A Great Friday, but a Feature Coming on Saturday

I knew that I wouldn’t have a lot of time this Friday to make more than a short post, as I had family coming into Vancouver from both the west and east coasts of the U.S.; however, primarily an optimist, I overcalculated just how much spare time I might really have available between preparations.

The biggest problem with having only a little “spare time” comes when something uncalculated arises — unavoidably, it fills the spare, and then the spare is no more.

That’s what happened to me today; I met a woman outside our backyard, while letting my dog, Caprica, get some sun during my break between chores. The woman and I struck up a conversation that was intriguing to me — her character was intriguing, too — and I ended up spending a good deal more time outside, talking with her, than planned. But more about this woman, later, for I realize how she fits into the scheme of the blogpost I’d intended for you today.

Young woman with face up and arms out toward the sun.

My family guests have only just left our home to return to their airport hotel, and I am running on the fumes of a day happily, though wearily, spent. So, I’ve decided that tomorrow, normally my “Saturday in the Studio,” will first incorporate another blog post. The one that I originally planned to share with you for Feature Friday.

Goodnight, and see you tomorrow.
